H. Groberg

I've always been fond of reading inspirational material since a year or two, because of just a single opprtunity that actually turned my way of thinking and approach towards life drmatically.
Now today I found this wonderful Poem in my sister's Higher English study book 'Kumarbharati' Std. X, and it made me share this with you all. Do read it and talk abt it. It has a great message in it. Always be Optimistic!

“Quit! Give up! You’re beaten!”
They shout at me and plead.
“There’s just too much against you now;
This time you can’t succeed!”

And as I start to hang my head
In front of failure’s face,
My downward fall is broken
by The memory of a race

And hope refills my weakened will
As I recall that scene;
For just the thought of that short race
Rejuventates my being.

A children’s race- young boy, young men,
How I remember well.
Excitement, sure! But also fear;
It wasn’t hard to tell.

They all lined up so full of hope
Each thought to win that race.
Or tie for first, or if not that,
At least take second place.

And fathers watched from off the side
Each cheering for his son.
And each boy hoped to show his dad
That he would be the one.

The whistle blew and off they went
Young hearts and hopes afire.
To win and be the hero there
Was each young boy’s desire

And one boy in particular
Whose dad was in the crowd
Was running near the lead and thought:
“My dad will be so proud!”

But as he speeded down the field
Across a shallow dip,
The little boy who thought to win
Lost his step and slipped

Trying hard to catch himself
“Quit! Give up! You’re beaten!”
They shout at me and plead.
“There’s just too much against you now;
This time you can’t succeed!”

So down he fell and with him hope -
He couldn’t win now-
Embarrassed, sad he only wished
To disappear somehow…

But as he fell his dad stood up
And showed his anxious face,
Which to the boy so clearly said:
“Get up and win the race!”

He quickly rose, no damage done -
Behind a bit, that’s all-
And ran with all his mind and might
To make up for his fall

So anxious to restore himself -
To catch up and to win-
His mind went faster than his legs;
He slipped and fell again!

He wished then he had quit before
With only one disgrace
“I’m hopeless as a runner now;
I shouldn’t try to race.”

But in the laughing crowd he searched
And found his father’s face;
That steady look which said again:
“Get up and win the race!”

So he jumped up to try again -
Ten yards behind the last-
“If I’m to gain those yards,” he thought,
“I’ve got to move real fast.”

Exerting everything he had
He gained eight or ten,
But trying so hard to catch the lead
He slipped and fell again!

Defeat! He lied there silently -
A tear dropped from his eye-
“There’s no sense in running anymore:
Three strikes: I’m out! Why try?”

The will to rise had disappeared;
All hope had fled away;
So far behind, so error-prone:
A loser all the way.

“I’ve lost, so what’s the use,” he thought
“I’ll live with my disgrace.”
But then he thought about his dad
Who soon he’d have to face.

“Get up,” an echo sounded low.
“Get up and take your place;
You were not meant for failure here.
Get up and win the race.”

“With borrowed will get up,” it said,
You haven’t lost at all.
For winning is no more than this:
To rise each time you fall.”

So up he rose to run once more,
And with new commit
He resolved that win or lose
At least he wouldn’t quit/

So far behind the others now, -
The most he’d ever been-
Still he gave it all he had
And ran as though to win

Three times he’d fallen, stumbling;
Three times he rose again:
Too far behind to hope to win
He still ran to the end.

They cheered the winning runner
As he crossed the line first place.
Head high, and proud, and happy;
No falling, no disgrace.

But when the fallen youngster
Crossed the line last place,
The crowd gave him the greater cheer,
For finishing the race.

And even though he came in last
With head bowed low, unproud,
You would have thought he’d won the race
To listen to the crowd.

And to his dad he sadly said,
“I didn’t do too well.”
“To me, you won,” his father said.
“You rose each time you fell.”

And when things seem dark and hard
And difficult to face,
The memory of that little boy
Helps me in my race.

For all of life is like that race.
With ups and downs and all.
And all you have to do to win,
Is rise each time you fall.

“Quit! Give up, you’re beaten!”
They still shout in my face.
But another voice within me says:
“GET UP AND WIN THE RACE!”

D.H. I think this is the important factor that every human should have in it! 'Taking the right decision at the right moment' Its a totally normal, every one gets latched here often. At every point of life, we are taking some decisions, and because of the choice we have make at that point, we tend to shape up our life. The decision point what I'm talking about right now is about the crucial stage in a relationship, any relationship. Sometimes in life disputes, disagreements happen, and we don't want to let go some of our feelings, people, or may be things, because of our very healthy emotional attachment with them. You might feel, “I did nothing wrong, then why this is happening to me? What did I do?” sort of questions. But let me tell you, you are not alone, such situations happen with 99% of the humans, cause everyone has the feelings and those feelings drive us. And during such situation, emotions are overflowing with our minds, not knowing what would be the right decision! We happen to fall in dilemma whether to take this decision or that one. we might sometime breakdown and cry.

What should be done now?

Always Listen to what your heart, more precisely what your soul says to you. Always think in assertive manner, regardless of 'whose mistake it is!', you shall definitely find the way out of the situation. The way out might be hard (not all the times though), but don't hold onto the state or person or the situation, YOU HAVE TO LET IT GO!

Now you will say, Is it so easy to ‘Let Go’ the feeling/ situation/ person (or whatever, which is blocking the mind).

But the answer is YES, ‘You have to let it go its way, if its meant for you, it will always find its way back to you’. Because, if you keep holding the feeling that,

'I don't want to let it go', OR

'its mine' OR

'I need this', OR may be

'Its not my mistake, why should I step back?'.

All this is going to create unnecessary stress to your mind. And you will be stuck in sadness, hatred for the long period of time. Which leads you to Negative approach, thinking towards everything coming your way. Ultimately leading you towards all the pity feelings, which can never make you successful in life and believe it or not "Thoughts Becomes Things" so why to be so sad and negative?

A famous saying ‘Nothing is permanent’, suits here too (of course in a positive manner). Everything has its own time of existence, and bad time shall too pass. You just have to have faith in your decision, think positive, and most importantly keep working towards the betterment of your future, with increasing improvement everyday.

So remember,

Be Calm, Let it go, don't hold it, Listen to what your soul says to you, Think positive, Forgive, Keep the faith, and keep yourself busy in your development and growth.

Paulo Coelho said in the famous Fable, The Alchemist

"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it..."

Lyric of song - श्री गणेशाय धिमही...

|| श्री गणेशाय नम: ||

Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles (Vighnesha, Vighneshvara). He is honored at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions. So here I'm starting my blog with my small prayer to The Lord.

I have searched the internet for the lyrics of the song "Shree Ganeshaya Dheemahi", from the Bollywood movie "Viruddha", directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. I found many lyrics written in English Language over several sites, but not a single one written in Hindi. So this is my post, which has the song lyric in Hindi(mostly perfect).

Originally the whole song is written in 'Sanskrit' Language. The song has such a blessed and pleasant words. My most personal favorite among the songs for Lord Ganesha.
